Welcome
Hello, and welcome to our minuscule slice of the internet. We’re glad you stopped by and hope you enjoy learning about the places we’ve been and the things we’ve seen.
Who we are
We are a San Francisco Bay area couple who love being on the road exploring the cities, forests, and attractions this great country has to offer. We count ourselves fortunate to be able to pack up our fifth wheel trailer and roll on down the road to new adventures and sights to see.
This guy is Jon (also known as JT), a Vietnam veteran and our resident driver, chef, handyman, and IT guy.
I’m Linda, a retired CPA, navigator, baker, dishwasher, writer, and photographer.
Jon dreams of sitting along the lakeshore with a fishing pole in his hands, waiting for the tug on the line that signals a fish is nibbling on the bait. More often than not, I’m able to find a trail to hike, a tour to take, or some other activity to distract him from catching the big one. Of course, I do enjoy his fresh trout coated with crushed crackers and fried to a golden brown. It’s a perfect meal at the end of the day back at the campsite.
Mini history
Our days have not always been so relaxing. When our adult children graduated high school and went out into the world on their own, we had given up on vacations in the nineteen-foot bunkhouse trailer we had used since they were preschoolers. Our lives were too busy with long workdays that continued into the weekend, leaving no time for us to venture too far from home. Shortly before we both retired, a visit to Mammoth Lakes with our son and his girlfriend rekindled our love for travel in an RV. On our way back, we drove in and out of places we had vacationed over the years and before we arrived home, we had made the decision to buy a new trailer. The salesperson tried to talk us into a larger unit, but we said no, the twenty-two-foot travel trailer with no slide-outs would do. We should have listened during the sales pitch. Eighteen months later, we upgraded to a 2012 GMC Duramax Diesel truck and a thirty-foot Cougar fifth wheel with living area and closet slide-outs. We are now satisfied our new rig will last for a number of years into the future.
Jon, thank you for your service. When we were looking at fifth wheels eleven years ago our original plan was to get a smaller one. We ended up getting one with 3 slides because we both liked the layout better and we have never regretted our choice. It’s been our home away from home on many trips from Georgia to 41 states and 4 Canadian provinces.
Wishing you safe travels and happy trails!

Wow! So many states and provinces. You’ve really added up the miles. Our thirty foot fifth wheel is perfect for us. We enjoy the good floor space and lots of windows for air flow and views. Although we could have done without the front cap leak that took three tries to fix. Thanks again for stopping by.
